Version 5

Version 5 of the PHL range of products provides sensitive enhancements to existing products, and it's enriched with new tools. The PHL tools are now compatible with all versions of the AS400, iSeries, System i or Power i from version V5.2. The users will benefit from this new version under their maintenance contract without additional cost.

Improved features

Particular focus was placed on the flexibility of Usage. In particular, products can now be accessed by all major Internet market browsers. All images generated are now customizable to adapt it to the needs. To simplify programs management and deployment, PHL products generate a single RPG subject both used for 5250 display and for PHL web / PHL Print version. Finally, management of the Complete Unicode simplifies the implementation of international versions applications.

PHL Print added new facilities to better manage and print PDF files. It facilitates the connection of "Direct PDF" printers to the the AS400, iSeries, System i or Power i: and the result is identical between the screen and printing. It allows to print PDF MultiBac (in PJL), the PJL driver is provided.

version 5 PHL XML enjoys a recasting of the XML engine, which is now based on Unicode. It takes into account the ISO-8859 UTF-8 and UTF-16 formats . Multilingual data transmission becomes totally transparent.

New tools

New tool add in PHL Web, PHL RAD allow to quickly generate programs PHL Web and PHL Print through a reference of configurable and customizable models .

PHL Query is a new tool to easily generate queries to DB2 databases through a two-step approach. Firstly, a computer creates a generic SQL query that provides detailed information. Through menus and wizards, the users can then generate their own reports by grouping, filtering, sorting, creation of custom views...
